A wildfire can spread very quickly, leaving you little time to get to safety. Be prepared to evacuate at a moment’s notice and obey all instructions from officials. A combination of wet and dry thunderstorms, low humidity and record dry vegetation have led to several large wildfires burning across the West. The American Red Cross is responding across several states, providing safe shelter for people forced from their homes by the fires.
