When a new mom says she’s “fine,” it doesn’t always mean she is. Beneath the surface of feeding schedules, sleepy newborn cuddles, and daily routines, many women are quietly navigating exhaustion, overwhelm, and something harder to name. For some, that experience is postpartum depression (PPD). Studies show that one in eight women in the U.S. will experience it, yet many continue moving through their days, doing what needs to be done, even while something beneath the surface feels off.
