Week 1 of the college football season is over, and now everyone flips the page to what should be a far more exciting week. This weekend, we’ll have far more Power 4 clashes including some big games like Texas vs Ohio State and Michigan vs Oklahoma. With bigger games come bigger stakes as teams look to start runs for the CFP while other players look to kick off Heisman campaigns. Quarterbacks carry the biggest burdens to deliver for their teams on a weekly basis.

Week 1 of the college football season is in the books as every program has now played atleast one game. The first week of the season wasted no time turning up the heat on college football's hottest seats. While some coaches eased pressure with strong starts, others suffered disastrous losses that immediately raised questions about their futures. Mike Norvell and Dabo Swinney were among the biggest names to take a hit, with disasters in different ways.

The NFL season has finally arrived as the games kick off on Wednesday with a rematch of the Super Bowl. This offseason, plenty of teams made all-in moves, as everyone tries to chase down the Rams, who enter the season as the Super Bowl favorites after adding Myles Garrett, Trent McDuffie, and Aaron Donald. While plenty of teams are chasing the Super Bowl, others are already eyeing the 2027 NFL Draft.

The writing was already on the wall when Florida State struggled at times with New Mexico State that the Seminoles clearly missed on offseason evaluations, and that Mike Norvell put together another flawed roster. While the Seminoles escaped with a win, the real test was always going to come when 19th ranked SMU came to town. The game started with a two-hour power outage, and keeping SMU from using tablets or headsets was already an advantage for the Seminoles, who played in Week 0.

Coming into Monday Night, it felt like the Florida State Seminoles would need some magic to knock off 19th ranked SMU. Instead of magic, the Seminoles got chaos as a power outage in Doak Campbell Stadium delayed the game for nearly two hours. When the game finally kicked off, SMU was stuck playing its first game of the season with no Player-Coach communication or tablets due to the power outage.

Over the past few seasons, as Florida State has struggled to find anything to be excited about, the fans have been dreading watching the Seminoles in action. On Monday Night, Florida State may have found the perfect solution as there was a major power outage at Doak Campbell Stadium leading to a delay to the game. According to ESPN's Taylor McGregor, Florida State hopes to kick off the game at 9:15 PM Eastern, nearly 2 hours after the game was expected to start.

Week 1 of the college football season is just about wrapped up, with SMU and Florida State set to close things out on Monday night. The first week of a full slate featured several lopsided matchups, which led to some players putting up eye-popping numbers. We also saw some great individual performances in the biggest games of the week.

This, however, is a new year, with a new OK State team that’s ready to trip up anyone who fails to suspect it as a serious threat…or at least that’s what I’d be saying if Week 1 didn’t go completely haywire.
