Today, at the 2026 National School Transportation Association (NSTA) Annual Meeting & Convention held in Denver, the National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services (NASDPTS) released the results of its 14th survey on illegal passing of stopped school buses. In 39 states throughout the country and the District of Columbia, approximately 26.2% of the nation’s school bus drivers participated in a one-day survey to report motorists who passed their stopped school buses.

The term "impractical to transport" is a hot-button phrase across Ohio lately, as some school districts have been under fire from parents and the public for not transporting all students within its boundaries. Now, the Ohio Pupil Transportation Workgroup has issued a final report addressing the concern. The report most notably recommends halting the current process of allowing districts to issue payments to families in lieu of transportation using the "impractical to transport" distinction.

Six California school districts selected the company's routing platform and related transportation technology as Transfinder continues expanding its presence across the state. The federal agency has proposed changes to next year’s targets that would eliminate DEF derates, ease warranty requirements, and retain current NOx emissions standards. The EPA has proposed eliminating DEF derates in its 2027 heavy-duty engine rule changes. Proposed changes include easing warranty requirements for heavy-duty engines. The current NOx emissions standards would be retained under the new proposal.
