A first information report has been registered against Aam Aadmi Party leaders Saurabh Bharadwaj and Jarnail Singh, and other party workers for allegedly assaulting a head constable, ANI reported on Tuesday. The incident took place on Monday when AAP leaders, led by former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, went to the Tilak Nagar, a day after Delhi minister Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma slapped a man in the area.

Milan Pradhan has been directed to surrender before the trial court by October 21, PTI reported. Pradhan was arrested on September 18 in connection with a 2007 murder case. The Calcutta High Court dismissed a petition by the West Bengal Congress challenging an alleged discrepancy in the election affidavit of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Nandigram bye-poll candidate, Live Law reported on Tuesday. The petition had questioned the difference between Hasirani Rath’s declared age and the year in which she claims to have passed her Class 10 examinations. Rath has not mentioned her date of birth in the affidavit but has stated her age as “60+ years”.
