The Wood County District Public Library is returning more than three times the value of what it is spending. When the Ohio Library Council updated its return on investment calculator, the local library’s Deputy Director Michele Raine inputted the local numbers “and we’re really excited to share that in 2024, for each $1 invested, $3.96 in value was returned to the community,” reported Director Michael Penrod at the board of trustees’ May meeting.
$40 million estimate is ‘a waste of money’ for new highway garage
Wood County is looking for a new place to store highway maintenance equipment, but the $40 million price tag proposed by a local architectural firm is too high for John Musteric, county engineer. At a recent county commissioner’s meeting, Musteric said the county has been dealing with this need for too long. He said that working with the existing facilities on East Poe Road is a “waste of money,” and two sites on East Gypsy Lane Road are better options.

Error-prone Bobcats fall at Napoleon
By Jeffery Ratliff Northwest Signal NAPOLEON — Napoleon sent 15 batters to the plate — 10 before recording an out — in the sixth inning, scoring 12 runs to erase Bowling Green’s 5-3 lead and post a 15-5 win Monday night at Booster Field on the campus of Napoleon High School. Napoleon (4-1) had nine hits in the inning, including three bunt singles and two more infield hits. The Wildcats also took advantage of three Bobcat errors in the inning. Bowling Green (4-6) had eight total errors in the game.
