SWANTON — Village council Monday approved two annual occurrences, which assess the cost of $15 for leaf removal and $32 for street light maintenance to village residents for the second half of the year. The cost is added to tax assessments. Council approved motions by Swanton Fire and Rescue Chief Cuyler Kepling concerning two new personnel. Samuel Lammers was appointed to the position of full-time firefighter/EMT with an annual compensation of $57,946.79.

SWANTON — Delays to the Airport Highway lane change project was one topic of discussion at Monday’s village council meeting. Village Administrator Shannon Shulters said the plans to change the traffic pattern on Airport Highway is still in the planning stage, with several questions to be answered at their next meeting with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).

DELTA — A raise in pay for public utility workers was discussed during Monday’s village council meeting. Since February, council members have been debating how to pay utility workers enough to encourage them to continue to work for the village. Village Administrator Chris Fraser reported that a survey of other similarly sized municipalities showed Delta was lowest in rate of pay.
