Hi all, I hope you’re having a lovely August so far. It’s the month of vacances here in France aka Paris is quiet, businesses are closed and while many are in le sud (Antibes! Nice! Marseille! The Luberon! Arles!), this month Shortlisted is heading to Porto. From *the* spot to get a cachorrinho, the coffee shop I always bring beans home from, my new favorite swim spot + fish market + the natural wine bar to go to before / after and much more, I can’t wait to share this shortlist with you.
Short Stay | Two Island Stays from Athens
Hi all and welcome to the next edition of Short Stay, our getaway vertical on Shortlisted. Short Stay features one-off, highly-recommended properties that I love + think you would love too. Less formal review, these are formatted in the way I would describe a property to a (very) inquisitive friend who cares about f&b, a comfortable bed, excellent service, a good massage and so on. Basically these are properties that are So. Good. you won’t want to leave (for at least a night or two).
Athens, Shortlisted
Hi all, I hope you’re having a beautiful month so far. July is my birthday month and this year we took a proper (!) holiday to Greece — starting and ending in Athens with a few islands in between and absolutely no emails answered.
Antibes, Shortlisted
Hi all, I hope you’re having a lovely June so far. This month we’re heading (along with the rest of France) to the coast. Specifically, Shortlisted is going to Antibes, located on the French Riviera between Nice (Nice, Shortlisted here!) and Cannes.
Madrid, Shortlisted
Hi all, I hope you’re having a lovely month so far. Earlier this spring, I popped over to Madrid for a few sun / jamón / tortilla / tinto de verano-soaked days and promptly remembered why I love this capital city so much.
Short Stay | A Seaside Break from Nice (or Marseille or Paris)
Hi all and welcome to the next edition of Short Stay, ournew-ish getaway vertical on Shortlisted.
Luberon, Shortlisted
Hi all, I hope you’re having a lovely April so far. Summer is fast approaching and for the past 10 years of my life this has meant trips to the south of France (so much so that I wrote le SUD!). The region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur covers a huge area and each part has its own unique beauty and character. So far, Shortlisted has been to Nice, Marseille and Arles in le sud and this month, rather than a specific city, we’re heading to one of my personal favorite parts of the region: the Luberon.
Oaxaca de Juárez, Shortlisted
Hi all, I hope you’re having a beautiful month so far. This month Shortlisted is heading to Oaxaca de Juárez. The capital of the State of Oaxaca is one of my absolute favorite places in the world to eat (quesillo! tlayudas! mole!) and drink (mezcal! coffee!) + shop (pottery! textiles! sal de gusano!).
Lanzarote, Shortlisted
Hi all, I hope you’re having a lovely February so far. This month, we’re heading to Lanzarote and I am beyond excited to share this one with you (so much so that I had another Shortlisted destination slated for this month then moved Lanzarote up in the editorial calendar). It’s that special / you should start planning a trip asap.
Tokyo, Shortlisted
Hi all, I hope you’re having a beautiful start to 2026. We’re starting the year in Tokyo! One of my top cities in the world in which to eat / drink / shop / wander, I’ve been holding off on writing this one simply because the city is massive and packed with SO MUCH to explore. It’s definitely a city to keep coming back to again and again and, with that in mind, kindly think of this as Tokyo, Shortlisted Part 1 (I’m heading back again later this year and am already set on Part 2).
