Image: Speedcafe Chaz Mostert’s #1 Supra suffered an engine failure during the final race of the Ipswich Super440 on Sunday afternoon due to a bottom end bearing failure. As a result, all four Toyotas that were running the revised B-spec engine reverted to the pre-Ipswich A-spec for Tuesday’s pre-enduro test.

The team had elected to move the 2024 champion into the new car before discovering Brown’s previous entry had been running with an incorrect airbox restrictor for the balance of the season.

The drivers were killed when their Can-Am Maverick X3 side-by-side buggy crashed into a tree and landed on its side before being engulfed in flames. The coroner said the two men could have been saved if their car had been fitted with a plumbed-in fire extinguisher.
New F1 circuit passes first test ahead of debut

Image: Madring The 5.4-kilometre venue hosted all 30 F3 drivers and 10 teams across Monday and Tuesday, providing the first opportunity to assess the circuit under sustained competitive conditions before the Spanish Grand Prix on September 11-13. Campos Racing’s Ugo Ugochukwu emerged with the fastest time of the test after recording a 1:49.034s during Tuesday morning, finishing 0.193s clear of Hiyu Yamakoshi.

Image: James Black Held on the streets of Washington DC, the 147-lap race became the most-watched race outside of the Indy 500 since before the 2008 merger of the Indy Racing League and Champ Car. The Grand Prix of Washington DC broadcast peaked at 3.4 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. Fox Sports is into its third year as IndyCar’s broadcast partner in the United States.

Mercedes has now determined Monza is the most favourable venue to take the hit, with Antonelli set to receive all major new power unit components for next weekend’s race.
New mum Molly Taylor announces motorsport return plans

Taylor will join Kevin Hansen in the FIA Extreme H World Cup later this year in Qiddiyah City, Saudi Arabia. The pair won the inaugural Extreme H World Cup last year at the same venue with Jameel Motorsport. This year, they will return to the Veloce Racing stable for which they raced 2022 and 2024.
NASCAR confirms return to San Diego naval base in 2027

Stock car racing’s top two divisions, the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, will race on July 31-August 2 (AEST). It means the race will form part of the five-race NASCAR In-Season Challenge.
