Cabinet approves Odisha Coastal Highway Project
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the Odisha Coastal Highway Project, a new road corridor that will run along Odisha’s coastline from Rameshwar to Paradeep. The project will be built under the Hybrid Annuity Model and will cost Rs 8,300.79 crore. The Odisha Coastal Highway will cover 160.18 km and pass through Khurda, Puri, Kendrapada, and Jagatsinghpur districts. According to the government, the project has been planned to address rising traffic demand along Odisha’s coast.

Cabinet’s Rs 10,021-Cr, 540-km Rail Plan for South India
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by PM Modi, has approved five railway multitracking projects worth approximately Rs 10,021 crore. The projects will add about 540 km of additional rail line across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana. The five projects, to be executed by the Ministry of Railways, cover 17 districts and are targeted for completion by 2029-30, according to the government.
