The North Carolina man charged with killing Evansville native Brianye Copeland pleaded guilty to second degree murder in Mecklenburg Superior Court this week. Kristopher Sinclair, 40, was sentenced to 25 to 31 years in the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections following his plea agreement. Sinclair was arrested in February 2025 after Copeland was found shot to death outside of a community center. She was 27.

EVANSVILLE – The University of Southern Indiana is refusing to say how much it's paying Kevin O'Leary for an event on artificial intelligence later this month.
