A Lyndhurst man who held police at bay for three hours the morning of Aug. 22, ultimately complied with police and was taken away for treatment safely after some serious negotiations with police, Deputy Police Chief Paul Haggerty told The Observer. Gary Richard Drew Gary Richard Drew, 58, of Port Charlotte, Florida, died Thursday, July 30, 2026, surrounded by his family.
