Universes Beyond — outside IPs appearing in Magic the Gathering — has done wonders for the world’s most complicated game. Set after set has broken record after record. Marvel is clearly so impressed with this that we’re back for a third Marvel set in two years. This time, however, we’re not breaking records so much as breaking the mold. Announced at New York Comic Con, Marvel Darkhold Destiny is the first Universes Beyond set created around an original story.
Croteam shares first The Talos Principle 3 gameplay
Croteam and Devolver Digital have shared a first gameplay trailer for the trilogy-ending The Talos Principle 3. The game is coming to PS5 and PC in 2027. The Talos Principle 3 will strand players within the Anomaly, a place in the universe where the laws of physics don’t work, and with fragmented memories to try and piece together. From here, you’ll explore dozens of new worlds, each with its own characters, stories and puzzles.
Phantom Blade Zero Preview – This might be the most insane action game I’ve played all year
There are certain games where you pick up the controller and immediately know that the developers have absolutely nailed what they were trying to achieve. Phantom Blade Zero was one of those games for me. I went into my four hour hands-on session expecting an impressive action game – after all, we’d already seen the trailers with its ridiculously elaborate combat, enormous bosses and dark wuxia world.
Among Us Story: On Guard has been given a February release date
Innersloth has confirmed that its single player Among Us spin off Among Us Story: On Guard has a release date, and it will be available on February 17th 2027. This spin off was announced back in June, with players taking on the role of the Guard, who is supposed to be helping train the other crewmates until a murder happens and suddenly you need to work out what is going on before everyone is killed by the Imposter.
Stronghold 4 will be available from December 7th in early access
Firefly Studios has announced that its long awaited prequel to the original Stronghold, Stronghold 4, will be available in early access from December 7th. Along with the announcement of the release date, Firefly has also released a brand new demo, which is actually dropping in two parts. The first part, available now, is the free build mode. The second part of the demo will be available October 19th and include the Skirmish mode.
Outward 2 will now launch into early access on February 8th
Back in June, Nine Dot Studios confirmed that Outward 2 would not be launching in 2026, having previously aimed to release it into early access on July 7th. After a few months of silence, Nine Dot Studios is now ready to confirm a new Outward 2 early access release date, and that date has been penned in for February 8th, 2027. In a post on Steam, the team at Nine Dot Studios said, “First we’d like to thank once again everyone for being so supportive when we announced Outward 2 was getting delayed.
Ace Combat 8 PC online multiplayer issues addressed by Bandai Namco
Last week, we saw the release of Ace Combat 8 which has been really anticipated by a huge group of fans with one of the draws being the online multiplayer. However, since launch Ace Combat 8’s multiplayer modes, particularly on PC, have been subject to issues. Bandai Namco is aware of the issue, amongst others, and has now released a statement of advice for PC players, which basically states that players need to be playing using the official system requirements.
What We Played – Star Wars Galactic Racer, Gears of War & Hellraiser: Revival
The pre-GTA rush has splurged across into October, with all the added guts, gore and viscera of horror games thrown into the bubbling cauldron of spooky October gaming. While I’ve been known to laugh in the face of scary monsters in video games – literally, when I previewed Resident Evil Requiem’s demo last summer – horror also isn’t my go-to genre for gaming.
How The Escapists 3 plans to break into the third dimension
In time honoured Team17 tradition, The Escapists 3 is busting out of the shackles of 2D and stepping into the third dimension. OK, so this is really only the second time they’re doing it, Worms 3D was actually the sixth game in the series, and they’re not slapping a ‘D’ on the end of this game title, but you get what I mean. This one’s in 3D now, but that’s not all that Team17 has been scheming.
GTA 6 star-studded radio stations and on-demand podcasts revealed
Rockstar has pumped up the volume to reveal the star-filled radio stations that will feature in Grand Theft Auto VI, getting the likes of Bad Bunny, Lana Del Rey, Kerry King and Tom Araya from Slayer and more to host. The radio isn’t the only thing you can listen to in GTA 6, though, with a range of on-demand podcasts to listen to instead.
