ThisWeek Culture
Online/Digital
ThisWeek Culture tracks and champions theatre, comedy and culture, and the culture business, year-round in London and every August at the Edinburgh Festival.
We do this through our TW Weekly bulletin, which recommends the best in culture in London and beyond every Tuesday lunch time, alongside interviews with our favourite performers, producers, writers and directors.
The bulletin also includes the latest updates from TW Backstage, reporting on and explaining key developments and debates in the cultural and creative industries, and interviewing key people working in those sectors. Source

Alan Ho: Am I Back
In my recent perusing of the Lambeth Fringe programme I came across an intriguing show that really made me want to find out more about it. Presented by Aether Scriptorium, 'Am I Back' is by Alan Ho, who multitasks as director and performer alongside his role as writer. The show explores the themes of blindness - physiological and metaphysical - misunderstanding and pursuit of the truth, and is about what happens to a man when he regains his sight.
Summerhall Arts responds to property developer's plans, expresses concerns
The arts charity that currently runs the Summerhall complex in Edinburgh has expressed concerns about redevelopment plans that were recently published by the property company that has agreed to acquire the site. That company, AMA Homes, plans to keep some parts of the Summerhall complex operating as an arts centre while converting other parts for use by retail and hospitality businesses, and for apartments, a hotel and student accommodation.

FESTIVAL STUFF Sounding The Archive: The Emily Penrose Diaries | Conway Hall | 17-18 Oct We're hardly ever lost for festival stuff, are we? And we're also into spooky season, which will then lead into festive, jangly, glittery Christmas stuff. What a happy thought. And with that happy thought, let's happily make our way again to the lovely Bloomsbury Festival and an event at Conway Hall that I am intrigued by: a performance focused on the diaries of academic historian Emily Penrose. More here.

You can find links to all the venues and therefore the shows here, but you could definitely also take a look here to find our more about 'The Notion Of Recompense', which looks at generational trauma through a folk horror lens.
Tim Stubbs Hughes: Saving Myself
As you may be aware, Lambeth Fringe is currently up and running, and there's a huge amount of brilliant creative stuff to take in. One of the shows that we're excited about is 'Saving Myself', a one woman show, written by Tim Stubbs Hughes, directed by Julia Stubbs and starring Jessamy James. It's a play that's already graced the Brighton and Camden Fringes, and with any luck, it will be appearing at another big festival before too long.

Minister says ticket touting ban should become law "quicker than we initially intended"
The UK's Creative Industries Minister, Ian Murray, told delegates at the Labour Party Conference this week that the UK government hopes to implement its promised ticket touting ban "quicker than we initially intended". The minister's comments followed reports in The Guardian last weekend that the Department For Digital, Culture, Media & Sport has now assembled "a sizeable bill team" to draft legislation that will introduce the ban and to then steer that legislation through Parliament.
