Blue Jackets' Cam Talbot sets NHL record by winning with 9th different team
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Cam Talbot became the first NHL goalie to win a game with nine different teams by stopping 20 shots in the Columbus Blue Jackets' 3-2 shootout win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday night. In his first season with Columbus, Talbot stopped all three of Chicago's shots in the shootout to surpass the previous record set by Curtis McElhinney, Sean Burke and Ron Tugnutt.

Sell The Team!” got louder and louder as the game drifted to a finish.

(AP) — Hurricane Isaias crashed into the U.S. Gulf Coast as a dangerous Category 2 storm on Friday, lashing communities with wind and rain and threatening to flood low-lying areas where residents were advised to evacuate ahead of its arrival. The first hurricane of the Atlantic season made landfall at near Destin, Florida, the Miami-based National Hurricane Center said. It had maximum sustained winds of 105 mph (169 kph).
Arizona State assistant hockey coach not at opener in wake of player collapse
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — An Arizona State hockey coach who was present during an outdoor workout that left a player on life support is not with the team for its home opener. Assistant coach Alex Hicks did not join the team for Friday's game against Holy Cross, appearing to be the latest coach affected by the fallout from defenseman Matthew Mayich's collapse during an Aug. 20 workout. The university did not say why Hicks was not with the team.
