A teenager has died in hospital after a serious crash near Taree last week. About 3.20pm (Saturday 10 March 2018), a Nissan Pulsar was travelling south on Crowdy Head Road, Crowdy Head, when it left the road and collided with a tree. The driver, a 17-year-old male, suffered concussion. He was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital for a mandatory blood and urine sample. He was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital where he died about 4pm on Friday 16 March 2018.
