The National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) has delivered a major blow to the illicit alcohol trade, seizing over 27,000 litres of illegal brews in coordinated multi-agency operations across Nairobi and Nyakach. In a Rapid Results Initiative (RRI) exercise carried out on August 21 in Dagoretti North, Nairobi, NACADA enforcement teams recovered 2,130 litres of chang’aa and 120 drums of kangara estimated at approximately 25,200 litres.

Former High Court Judge Justice Joseph Mbalu Mutava has died, in a development that has left his family, friends and members of the legal fraternity mourning. According to family sources, Mutava died while being rushed to Makindu for treatment. His body was later transferred to Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi as the family began making arrangements for his final rites.

A man accused of impersonating a Catholic priest has been remanded at Lodwar G.K. Prison after being arraigned on charges of personation. The accused, Jones Bogonko Onchonga, is alleged to have posed as an ordained Catholic priest and conducted religious duties within the Catholic Diocese of Lodwar.
