Eventing isn't only about moving up the levels. It's about finding the place in the sport that brings you and your horse joy. This week on the USEA Official Podcast, USEA Board of Governors members Erin Thompson and Allison Bailey join the show to celebrate grassroots and amateur eventing and discuss the addition of the new USEA Intro level, designed to provide an approachable entry point into recognized competition.

The traditional long-format experience was alive and well at Spokane Sport Horse Farm in September, where three horse-and-rider combinations came away with USEA Classic Series victories at the Beginner Novice, Novice, and Training levels. For this year’s champions, the Classic Series offered much more than another chance to add a win to their records.

Registration is now open for the 2026 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention, which will include the U.S. Eventing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Dinner, on December 11-13 in Arlington, Virginia. Interested members are encouraged to join the USEA at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City hotel from Friday through Sunday to experience advocacy in action as USEA leaders look towards the future of the sport and help us celebrate our year-end champions and Hall of Fame Inductees.

Leesburg, Va.—Oct. 1—The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is pleased to announce the 12 young athletes selected for the 2026-2027 USEA Emerging Athletes U21 (EA21) National Camp. Following five regional clinics held across the country this summer, these athletes have been invited to continue their development through the next stage of the EA21 program, taking place on the West Coast this year. The EA21 National Camp will take place Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2026, through Saturday, Jan.

Paso Robles, Ca.—Sept. 28—The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is pleased to announce a Young Event Horse (YEH) Educational Seminar taking place on Saturday, October 17, during the YEH-5 jumping and galloping phase at the USEA YEH East Coast Championships. Fairburn, Ga.—Sept. 24—Bouckaert Farm at Chattahoochee Hills will launch dedicated U25 divisions at CCI1*-S, CCI2*-S and CCI3*-S at the Bouckaert Equestrian International Horse Trials, October 23–25, 2026, and will continue the divisions at all three of its International Horse Trials in 2027. The commitment will give U25 athletes three opportunities each season at Bouckaert to compete against their peers while building FEI experience and progressing through the international levels.

The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is pleased to announce that Darwinn, owned by Caroline Moran and ridden by Phillip Dutton, is the likely recipient of the 2026 Holekamp/Turner Grant and The Dutta Corp. prize. The 7-year-old Holsteiner gelding (Denver x Emma V) is aiming to represent the U.S. at the 2026 FEI WBFSH Eventing World Breeding Championships for Young Horses in the 7-year-old CCI3*-L Championship at Mondial du Lion in Le Lion d’Angers, France, from Oct. 15-18.
