Saks Global (New York) has emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy under new ownership and a new name, Exemplar Luxury Group (ELG). With “a substantially strengthened balance sheet, including a nearly 75% debt reduction, sufficient liquidity and the full backing of its capital partners and other key stakeholders,” ELG said in a news release that it is focused on driving long-term, profitable growth in the U.S. via its Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman banners.

Teso Life (Queens, N.Y.), a fast-growing Asian lifestyle chain, has opened its latest store, in Boston’s Downtown Crossing, The Boston Globe reports. The three-story retail complex, left vacant in 2021 by Forever 21, is the brand’s first in New England. The 20,000-square-foot space, at 459 Washington St., sells Japanese, Korean and Chinese snacks, beauty and skincare products, toys, home goods and other specialty items.
