Good morning and happy Thursday. It will be slightly cooler today — though still a sweltering 93 degrees — but the haze is increasing as smoke from Canadian wildfires hangs over the city. Photographer Gary Hershorn headed to the top of the Empire State Building last night to capture the murky view across Midtown. Air quality reached “unhealthy” levels in parts of the city yesterday and is expected to remain poor today.
Intrepid Parking Lot Set to Become 1,127-Home West Side Development
The state has selected a development team to transform the Intrepid Museum’s surface parking lot into a major mixed-income housing complex, advancing plans to build more than 1,100 new homes on one of Hell’s Kitchen’s largest undeveloped sites. A developer has been selected by the state to construct two residential towers at 621 W45th Street.
