ENTERPRISE — The Old West Trio has toured western cowboy music for 31 years, and this month they’re coming to Enterprise. They play Saturday, Sept. 12, at the OK Theater, 208 W. Main St. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the music starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 general admission or $20 for students/seniors/veterans (plus processing fees) at theoldok.com. The trio features Leslie Ide on bass, Steve Ide on rhythm guitar, and Steve Johnson on lead guitar. The Ides met in high school band.

WALLOWA LAKE — Work got underway Wednesday, Sept. 2, on the long-awaited project to refurbish the Wallowa Lake Dam, the engineering firm responsible reported. Mark Merklein, principal structural engineer for McMillen Engineering in Boise, said that as of Aug. 26, all permits federal, state and local had been approved and work can begin. Equipment has been collected in a fenced area at the county boat launch near the north end of the lake.

ENTERPRISE — The Wallowa County Chamber of Commerce has a new executive director. Stephanie Anderson Stroup succeeds Jennifer Piper. Stroup has been visitor to the county for 15-20 years. She and husband, Adam Stroup, have lived here since 2019. He owns and operates Flow State Home Services. Stephanie Stroup has been a businesswoman in her own right, having run a beverage catering company in Bend. When she sold that, she was free to move here. “It’s really an amazing community,” she said.
