Value of American watch market could comfortably rise 50% to $30 billion
Swiss watch exports to the United States have more than doubled from CHF 2 billion in 2017, when it accounted for 10% of global sales, to CHF 4.4 billion last year, representing 17% of the world’s total. For the past two years, exports to America have been higher than mainland China and Hong Kong, combined. This is a significant swing. As recently as 2018, Swiss watch exports to Asia’s two powerhouse markets were double those to the USA.

According to the brand, most references from the inaugural Off-White TIME collection sold out within 48 hours of launch, prompting a nationwide retail activation celebrating Flannels’ exclusive partnership for the collection.
Secondary market sales for Rolex, alone, could top $10 billion this year
Rolex‘s new, used and vintage watches could generate sales of $10 billion this year on the secondary market, according to a new report by EveryWatch. Sales for the first half of 2026 totalled $4.3 billion, a 43.5% rise over the same six months of 2025. On that growth trajectory, grey, secondary, official Rolex CPO and auction market sales will top 11 figures for the whole of 2026, close to overtaking the turnover of the mothership, Rolex in Switzerland.

Hermès watch sales recover in Q2 after a soft start to 2026
Hermès has reported first-half 2026 revenues of €8.2 billion, up 6% at constant exchange rates, with its watches métier delivering a tale of two quarters that ultimately lands in positive territory. Watch sales for the full first half came in at €269 million, essentially flat compared to €281 million in H1 2025 – a 0.2% rise at constant exchange rates. The first quarter was the weak point, with watch revenues down 3.7% at constant exchange rates as the métier navigated a challenging environment.
Bucherer to open four additional Rolex showrooms in United States
Bucherer, which has been owned by Rolex since 2023, will open four new showrooms in the United States in 2026 and 2027 with the brand. A spokesperson for Bucherer told WatchPro today that the first new store will be a Rolex boutique in Seattle, which will open in the fall. This will be followed by the globally important Rolex USA flagship in New York, which will open on 5th Avenue at the end of 2026 or early 2027, with Bucherer taking over operational management.
New data says 60% of all retail stock records are wrong
A new study of 1.3 million stock audits across six major retailers has revealed that most inventory record errors are predictable, and the most damaging ones can be caught early. According to the research, around 60% of all stock records in retail are wrong, creating a disparity between what the system says is in the storeroom and what’s on the shelf. The report, conducted by ECR Retail Loss, outlines a new stock-taking model that finds real errors 90% of the time.
