Chuck Schumer is calling on the National Park Service (NPS) to release this year's funds for the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site along Delaware Avenue in Buffalo. The site, which is a National Historic Site, says it is the only unit in the entire National Park System that has not received its Congressionally appropriated operating funds this fiscal year.

"I think our our staff when we got the news was just ecstatic," says Mario Hicks of Gateway Longview. He says it's a big morale booster. Hicks says a number of staffers heard about the lottery and decided to take a chance. How tough will it be to decide who goes to that game?

Wellsville, N.Y. (WBEN) - A mother and her 6-year-old child are dead following an ATV rollover in the Town of Wellsville in Allegany County. At around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, New York State Police out of Belmont responded to an ATV rollover with possible fatalities on Niles Hill Road. An investigation has determined a 2003 Polaris Trail Boss 4-wheeler, operated by 38-year-old Ashley Robichaud with her two children - 6- and 3-year-old - were traveling the fence line of a pasture.

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) State attorney general Letitia James' office releases the findings of its report on the death of Shaun Humphrey, who died at the Erie County Holding Center in 2023. Her office says there was no evidence of wrongdoing by deputies. James says Humphrey was in custody in a detoxification unit with constant observation on August 8, 2023. That day, a deputy saw Humphrey display seizure-like behavior and roll off his bed and onto the floor.

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Bisons will be celebrating one of the unique smells of Buffalo on Friday night at Sahlen Field. "My City Smells Like Cheerios" Night will pay tribute to one of Downtown Buffalo's defining features. "You have a lot of nights at the ballpark where after a game you go out to your car to drive home and you smell the sweet smell of Cheerios or Lucky Charms in the air," said Bisons assistant general manager Brad Bisbing.

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Police Department has arrested a pair of teenagers for their alleged connection with a kidnapping that occurred on Wednesday. At approximately 7:30 p.m., C District officers responded to a stolen vehicle call on N. Parade Avenue. A short time later, it was reported to police that the vehicle was taken without permission by a known suspect with an adult and two children in the vehicle. The call was updated to a kidnapping.
