The S&P 500 ended essentially flat, while Nasdaq closed slightly lower, weighed by chip weakness. Third-quarter earnings optimism has been propping up the market, helping it soldier through geopolitical turmoil, surging bond yields and mounting inflation worries.

Shares of Somerville, Massachusetts-based ​Generate Biomedicines were up about 5% ⁠in ⁠extended trading.

Pritchard, 28, delivered the best season of ‌his ​six-year career in ⁠2025-26 when he ⁠averaged career bests with 17.0 points, 5.2 assists and 3.9 rebounds. VATICAN CITY, Oct 13 (Reuters) – Pope Leo had a lower lobe ​of his right ‌lung removed during surgery on Tuesday and was diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma, a ‌common ​form of ⁠lung cancer, the ⁠Vatican said in a medical bulletin. Leo, 71, was admitted to Rome’s ​Gemelli hospital on Tuesday for surgery ⁠to remove a ⁠growth on his ​lung that doctors found ​in a recent health ‌checkup. Tuesday’s surgery lasted about 90 minutes and was successful with no ⁠complications, the Vatican said.
