PITTSFIELD — A busy week for area law enforcement led to more than a dozen bookings at the Pike County Jail over the Independence Day holiday period, according to logs released by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office. The weekly arrest report, spanning June 29 through July 5, shows local deputies and municipal officers handled a mix of outstanding warrants, traffic violations, drug possession charges, and domestic incidents.

SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois State Board of Education released comprehensive guidelines Thursday to help local school districts navigate the implementation of artificial intelligence across elementary and secondary classrooms. The state regulatory framework was developed to fulfill a legislative mandate under Public Act 104 0399. Watching snippets of the Wimbledon tennis tournament over the past week got me to thinking about my Uncle Reggie. Uncle Reggie came into our lives about 30 years ago when he married my mom’s sister. QUINCY – The Doggy Paddlers’ homecoming didn’t go as planned as they fell to the Illinois Pistol Shrimp 25-5 in a game that was called after seven innings Thursday night. A five-run first inning by the Pistol Shrimp set the tone for the night early on in both teams’ first contest since the three-day Prospect League All Star Game. It was only the second home loss of the season for the Doggy Paddlers, and it was their first game at Quincy Stadium after a six-game road trip prior to the break.
