Skip to Main Content March 30, 2026 Estimated read time: 4 minutes The Yale Institute for Global Health (YIGH) brought together faculty, students, and partners from across the university on March 25 for a campus open house, signaling a renewed phase for the institute under newly-appointed leadership. Dr. Ingrid Katz, who began her role as director in January 2026, opened the event and outlined priorities for the institute’s next chapter.

Dear friends, This month, I was pleased to join colleagues at the Yale Institute for Global Health as we marked an important new chapter for the institute. YIGH plays a vital role in connecting Yale’s strengths across disciplines and regions, helping ensure that our work is both collaborative and responsive to shared global challenges.

At Yale’s annual Brazil Meetup, hosted by the Office of International Affairs, more than 160 students and scholars gathered for an afternoon celebrating Brazilian culture and building community. Remarks at the event highlighted Yale’s longstanding academic partnerships with Brazil and the importance of sustained collaboration. February 17, 2026 Estimated read time: 2 minutes As the spring semester began, Yale’s Office of International Affairs (OIA) hosted its annual Brazil Meetup, bringing together members of the Yale community in the Henry R. Luce Hall Common Room at the MacMillan Center. The gathering reflects OIA’s ongoing commitment to fostering connections and collaboration among Yale’s international communities. First launched in 2017, the Meetup has grown into a signature annual tradition.
