A 27-year-old Middlesex County woman who works as a federal corrections officer is accused of an illegal sexual relationship with a male inmate at the facility where she worked. Jordan Pensak, a corrections officer at Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix, was charged with one count of sexual abuse of an individual in federal custody. Fort Dix is a low-security federal correctional institution in Burlington County.

The new pro ice hockey team in Trenton has finally revealed its new team mascot ahead of its inaugural season which kicks off in October. The Trenton Ironhawks introduced Hawkey this morning (Wednesday, July 29) in front of Capital Health Hopewell. Hospital employees and friends cheered on the new mascot at his unveiling. JACKSON — A commuter bus crashed into an Ocean County house just before dawn on Wednesday morning. The empty Academy bus crashed into the left side of a two-story home on East Veterans Highway (Routes 527/528) in Jackson around 4:30 a.m., according to police Lt. Edward A. Travisano. Photos of the crash published by the Asbury Park Press show heavy damage to the side of the house, including a mangled railing, broken windows and chunks of concrete from the foundation.

MANTUA — The husband of a cheerleading coach has admitted to having sex with a member of her young squad. Michael Brown, 46, pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated sexual assault of a minor. He made the plea in Superior Court in Gloucester County on Thursday, prosecutors announced. As part of his plea, Brown will be sentenced to 10 years in state prison. He must serve 8.5 years before he is eligible for parole, and he will be added to the state's sex offender registry when he gets out.
