The Historic Smithville Irish Festival returns this Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 10-11, for its 22nd year on the Village Greene in Galloway. The Smithville Irish Festival is sponsored by the Cape Atlantic Irish Association. The festival brings two days of traditional Celtic music, Irish dancers, bagpipers, food vendors, artisan goods, and the mobile Thatch Pub to the heart of Smithville. The Smithville Irish Festival runs from 10a-6p on Saturday and 10a- 5p on Sunday.

WEST DEPTFORD — A man who most recently lived in Albania threatened he would dismember a New Jersey resident and their children, according to federal prosecutors. Jarvis Shabazz, 37, is charged with eight counts of interstate threats and two counts of cyberstalking. If convicted on all charges, he faces up to five decades in prison. He appeared in Camden federal court on Aug. 17, 2026, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Friends of the Phish community, the loyal group of fans that follow the band Phish, are in mourning after losing a close friend this weekend in Atlantic City. Duncan Oldham, 69, of Geneva, New York, was struck and killed by a car at Iowa and Pacific avenues in Atlantic City shortly after the band's Saturday night show. Phish were in town for three shows at Boardwalk Hall from Friday through Sunday.

You may have childhood memories of this store, especially around the holidays. I loved shopping for my children's birthday and Christmas presents there. It's Toys "R" Us. Yes.

Living in New Jersey is expensive, and if you're a parent, odds are you know that better than anyone else. Whether you're paying for daycare or extracurricular activities, having a kid in Jersey can really rack up a price tag. My wife and I aren't really on the kid train; we have two nieces that we love to take to the beach for the day, and a lot of our friends have kids, so we get our fix, but when I learned how much the cost of literally having a kid in the Garden State was, I was shocked.
