Kenny Wayne Shepherd took his Ledbetter Heights 30th Anniversary Tour to Carolina Theatre in Durham, North Carolina, on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Then, on Sunday, he plays Knight Theater in Charlotte. The shows are part of his current tour and follow May's release of Ledbetter Heights (The 30th Anniversary Sessions). It's a new recording of the 12 songs from his 1995 debut, and Shepherd kept it close to the original. While on tour, he opened up to the North State Journal about the album and current run.

YES put out a deluxe edition of its 24th studio album, Aurora, on Oct. 2 through InsideOutMusic/Sony Music. It adds instrumental versions of all 10 songs and a new video for "Ariadne," directed by Matt Hutchings. The deluxe set runs 20 tracks. The original album plays first, and instrumental takes on each song follow. The band first released Aurora on June 12. "'Ariadne' was one of those songs that seemed to reveal itself as we were writing it," said Jon Davison, as quoted by Yahoo.

Queen guitarist Brian May said Freddie Mercury told the band, "I can't do this any more" after their last show together at Knebworth Park on Aug. 9, 1986. May shared the memory in a new interview with The Times. More than 120,000 fans packed the field that night. It closed out the Magic Tour. "He came off stage at Knebworth and said: 'I can't do this any more,' " May said. The band shrugged it off at the time.

Boston's holiday theater season is getting an early gift. Commonwealth Shakespeare Company has announced the cast for its 2026 production of A Christmas Carol, returning to the Emerson Cutler Majestic Theatre from Dec. 11 through Dec. 20.
