A former Indiana University basketball player was arrested June 28 in Carmel for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Carmel police arrested James Blackmon Jr., 31, shortly before 1 a.m. near 106th and Pennsylvania streets after he failed two field sobriety tests, smelled of alcohol and exhibited slurred speech, according to a probable cause affidavit. Blackmon admitted to police that he had drunk three glasses of white wine, the affidavit states.
