A home that was once part of a large farm in the Village is the latest to make the Century Structure list at SullivanMunce Cultural Center. Meganne and Chuck Brezina’s home at 625 N. Elm St. is officially a Century Structure. The designation is for homes and commercial buildings in Zionsville that are 100 years or older. The program celebrates historic architecture in the Village. The Brezina home is the 72nd structure to earn the designation, which comes with a plaque that will be fixed to the home.

The Witham Health Services and Parkview Health merger has been approved by the county. The Boone County Commissioners, Boone County Council and the Witham Health Services Board of Trustees unanimously approved an affiliation agreement Sept. 16 between the two healthcare providers. The votes move forward the merger between Witham and Parkview that was announced in April.

TriCo Regional Sewer Utility will impose a new fee on some of its commercial customers in the fall following state legislation that rolled back its fats, oils and grease program. The sewer utility’s board approved a monthly $45 fee Sept. 14 that goes into effect Nov. 1 and applies to restaurants and other TriCo customers that have fats, oils and grease facilities. Of the roughly 18,000 customers serviced by TriCo, the fee applies to about 206, according to Shaun Odom, pretreatment coordinator.

The Ascension St. Vincent Sports Performance office at Clay Terrace in Carmel will close Oct. 30. The move comes as the healthcare system transitions to a partnership with orthopedic practice OrthoIndy, according to an Ascension St. Vincent spokesperson. “We are working together to support continuity of care for patients and to provide transition opportunities for some affected associates,” the spokesperson stated.

“Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys,” opens at the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields on Sept. 19, bringing 134 objects from the couple’s collection and raising up works by Black diasporic artists. Featured artists include Gordon Parks, Amy Sherald, Nick Cave, Mickalene Thomas, Barkley Hendricks, Deborah Roberts and Kehinde Wiley. The exhibition, presented by JPMorganChase, runs until Feb. 18, 2027 at the museum, located at 4000 N Michigan Rd in Indianapolis.

Editor, I am deeply troubled by the proposal to bring LifeWise Academy to Noblesville Schools. LifeWise may be structured to comply with current laws by holding instruction off school property, using private funding and requiring parental permission, but legal permissibility does not mean our community should embrace it.

The Hamilton County Commissioners approved several infrastructure and public safety measures at their Sept. 14 meeting. The next commissioners meeting is at 1 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Hamilton County Judicial Center. What happened: Approved an emergency engineering agreement with United Consulting for the bridge on Hazel Dell Parkway over Blue Woods Creek.

Two candidates are vying for the District 3 seat on the Hamilton County Council in the Nov. 3 general election. Democrat Doug May, a retired human services administrator, will face Republican incumbent Mark Hall, a CEO and business owner who was elected to the council in 2022. May: Hamilton County needs an independent voice in county government who is beholden to no special interest.

Kelley Maguire performs comprehensive financial planning for her clients at Impact Financial Group, based in Indianapolis. Services include wealth management, reviewing risks and insurance and retirement planning. “I get to help people live their best life,” Maguire said. Maguire Outside of work, she takes the same approach to ensure children can have their best times, too.

Oliver Barszcz enjoys musicals because they give him the opportunity to meet more people within the theater community. “I have made some great friends through theater,” said Barszcz, a fifth grader at Brownsburg’s Crossroads Elementary School. “I really enjoy singing and dancing, and any chance I get to do that is fun for me.” Barszcz Barszcz plays Theo in Footlite Musicals’ production of “Pippin,” which runs Sept. 18 through Oct. 4 at the Indianapolis theater.
