After being scratched from the lineup because of tightness in his left quad, Harris delivered as a pinch-hitter against the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night. Harris drove a two-run double against the wall in left-center off Andrew Painter to lead the Braves to a 5-3 victory, handing the Phillies their 10th straight loss.
James makes tying 3 as Lakers storm back late, win in OT and take a 3-0 series lead over the Rockets
HOUSTON (AP) — LeBron James scored 29 points, including a tying 3-pointer with 13 seconds left in regulation, Marcus Smart had eight points in overtime and the Los Angeles Lakers took advantage of a Houston Rockets team missing Kevin Durant for a 112-108 win Friday night to take a 3-0 lead in the Western Conference first-round series. The Lakers rallied from a six-point deficit with under 30 seconds remaining and can sweep the series Sunday night in Houston.
Kirby wins 3rd straight start, Naylor homers in Mariners' 3-2 win over Cardinals
ST. LOUIS (AP) — George Kirby won his third consecutive start, Josh Naylor hit a solo home run and the Seattle Mariners beat the St. Louis Cardinals 3-2 on Friday night. Kirby (4-2) allowed five hits and two runs in six innings. He was lifted after giving up leadoff single in the seventh. Andrés Muñoz, an All Star in 2025, worked the ninth for his fourth. The Mariners have played 10 one-run games this season, going 4-6. St. Louis fell to 11-3 in games decided by two runs or fewer in 2026.

US military strike on alleged drug boat kills 2 in eastern Pacific
WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. military said it launched another strike Friday on a boat accused of ferrying drugs in the eastern Pacific Ocean, killing two people. The Trump administration's campaign of blowing up alleged drug-trafficking vessels in Latin American waters has persisted since early September and killed at least 183 people in total. Other strikes have taken place in the Caribbean Sea. The military has not provided evidence that any of the vessels were carrying drugs.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Jayson Tatum continued to shine in his return from injury with 25 points and Jaylen Brown also scored 25 to help the Boston Celtics beat the Philadelphia 76ers 108-100 on Friday night and take a 2-1 lead in the Eastern Conference first-round series. Game 4 is Sunday in Philadelphia. Tatum was 5 of 9 on 3-pointers in just his 19th game this season following surgery last May to repair his Achilles tendon.

Athletics hit 3 solo homer on 7 pitches off Rangers' Eovaldi in 1st inning
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Athletics got off to a fast start against the Texas Rangers on Friday night, hitting three solo home runs in the first inning. Nick Kurtz, Carlos Cortes and Tyler Soderstrom — three of the first four hitters — homered just seven pitches into the game. Kurtz launched Nathan Eovaldi's first pitch over the right-field wall. Cortes sent another shot to right, and Tyler Soderstrom homered on the first pitch he saw to straight-away center.
