Parkway Central sophomore Lucas Amador won the 800-meter race with a time of 1 minute, 55.75 seconds at the Class 4 state championship meet at Jefferson City. (Photo provided) The Colts finished second in the Class 4 state track meet with 42 points. Poplar Bluff won with 67 points. That made it back-to-back years in which Parkway Central placed second. Parkway Central won the Suburban Conference Green Pool championship.

He won by throwing 198 feet, 5.75 inches, which furthered his school record. He finished undefeated in the event this spring, going 11 for 11. “Baron’s hard work, combined with the expertise of throws coach John Diffley, led to his championship performance,” Lafayette coach Scott Haxton said.

The Bulldogs soccer team finished third and second in her first two years. This season culminated with South winning the Class 3 state championship 2-1 over St. Michael the Archangel at World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton.
