Megan Carpentier is the executive editor of Raw Story, a progressive daily news site first founded in 2004. Prior to her tenure at Raw Story, she was an associate editor at Talking Points Memo, the editor of news and politics at Air America, an editor at Jezebel.com and an associate editor at Wonkette. Her work has also been published by The Guardian, Bitch Magazine, the Women's Media Center, the Washington Post, Glamour, the NY Press, Bust, On The Issues, Women's eNews, RH Reality Check, Foreign Policy, Us Weekly and the Washington Independent.

Beforegetting into journalism, she spent seven years in government affairs in Washington, D.C.. She has a MS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a BA from Boston University, where she majored in German Literature and Sociology.
