How Boards Can Get in Front of Ethical Lapses
How Boards Can Get in Front of Ethical Lapses by Kirk O. Hanson Most corporate boards have learned to act quickly when a scandal breaks. General Motors’ board is moving much more quickly to clean up the fallout from its vehicles’ ignition failures than Toyota’s board did to address its rapid acceleration problems of several years ago. It is now the rare board that doesn’t launch an independent investigation quickly when misbehavior is reported.

The Ethical Challenges Facing Entrepreneurs
The life of an entrepreneur is filled with temptations to do wrong. In several decades as a business-ethics professor in Silicon Valley, I’ve spent countless hours talking to entrepreneurs who live under constant pressure to stretch the truth, manipulate their financial accounts, flout the law and otherwise engage in unethical behavior.
Unavoidable Ethical Dilemmas for Non-Profits
Non-profit organizations face their own set of ethical challenges and must resolve them based on their organizational values. When you ask, the attorney says, "Oh, I can't afford to not bill for my time anymore.
How you can make America moral again
Generations of politicians and foreign commentators have praised America for its values — commitment to democracy and the rule of law, compassion for those in need ,and efforts to provide opportunity to all citizens. President Reagan invoked the image of a “shining city upon a hill” to praise the exemplary role America has played in a world that often does not respect these same values.
