What was your first job as a journalist?
I freelanced for several years for various TN publications before landing a job as the Lifestyles Reporter at The Shreveport Times
Have you ever used a typewriter?
I thrifted a vintage typewriter in high school that I loved. I only used it a dozen or so times, but it did make it into my senior photos.
What's your favorite social network?
I mainly use Twitter and Reddit.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I did and I covered all the arts and entertainment - I knew exactly what beat I wanted to work in since the jump.
What's your favorite drink?
I'm from Tennessee (grew up right outside of Lynchburg which the Jack Daniels distillery calls home) so naturally Jack and Coke.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
Daily I read The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, The New York Times and The Associated Press.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
Arts and entertainment is all fluff and no substance. Which is wholly false.
