Anything, Everything, or Nothing At All
I was introduced to comics when I was a kid; my uncle had a few comics lying around my grandmother's house -- as I recall, copies of The 3 Mousketeers, Superboy, and other Silver Age DCs. I didn't see more comics until I was in high school. I had a neighbor who was into them and introduced me to Marvel Comics.* Conveniently, my friendly neighborhood library had a swap table on Wednesdays -- leave two comics for each one you take.
The Greatest Comic Book of All Time
Thanks for bumping this back up to the top, Luke. I am acutely aware that I posted this topic, then didn't answer it myself. That's because I couldn't really narrow it down. Also, what I tend to remember as the "greatest" stories from my youth are multipart storylines, what some todat would describe as "arcs," such as "The Kree/Skrull War" or "The Stone Tablet Saga." To make matters worse, earlier this month I noted how annoyed this question makes me when asked by mundanes.
What Comic Books Have You Read Today?
SUPERMAN #1: Perry White is on sabatical due to a recent stroke (suffered in Action Comics #1050). Lois Lane is now editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet. Jimmy Olsen has a live-in girlfriend. Lex Luthor is in prison. LexCorps has rebranded itself "SuperCorps" and is being run by Mercy Graves. Captain Maggie Sawyer (of the Metropolis Special Crimes Unit) has gone to Bludhaven and has been replaced by Neo Kekoa. Villains this issue include Livewire and the Parasite (in addition to Lex Luthor).
The Greatest Comic Book of All Time
I have two greatest comics ever (I'm old, I collect a lot of debris.) But besides Fantastic Four 51 (the BEST comic ever), at the time I read Superman Annual #11, I thought it was unbeatable. Alan Moore got what I thought was EVERYTHING in it; Batman and Robin and Wonder Woman. Superman's Fortress of Solitude. A return to Krypton, and appearances by Lyla Lerrol and Kara. And to cap it off - a knock down dragout fight between Superman and Mongul.
The List of One Thousand Super-Villains
Gotta have someone for these folks to fight. I'm going to try and see how many I can come up with without looking any up. Once I reach that point, I'll finish out the list using the standard references. • All For One My Hero Academia • The Dragon of the Moon • The Evil Midnight Bomber What Bombs At Midnight
