Men In Black/Jump Street Crossover Gets Official Title And Logo
Here come the Men in Black – and they’ve brought Jenko and Schmidt along with them for the ride. During Sony’s panel at the ongoing CinemaCon event, the studio’s planned Jump Street/Men in Black crossover was given an official title: MIB 23. An official logo was also showcased during the event – you can find it above, courtesy of ComicBook – though no further details were disclosed at the time of writing.
Watch: Amazon Drops First 3 Minutes Of The Boys Season 2
Though it’s not quite as good as a full-length trailer for The Boys season 2, Amazon dropped the next best thing today by giving us the first 3 minutes of the next run of the show. And you can catch it up in the player above at the 47:35 mark. We’ll warn you now though that it’s definitely NSFW.
FX Officially Moving Forward With American Horror Story Spinoff
It’s official: FX has issued the green light for an American Horror Story spinoff. Per Deadline, the series will feature “one-hour contained episodes” and have the backing of AHS series creator Ryan Murphy, who originally teased the TV offshoot earlier this month. How, exactly, it will be woven into the fabric of the AHS universe is another question entirely, though we wouldn’t be too surprised if this new-fangled spinoff overlapped with the core series.
Ryan Murphy Posts New Clue For American Horror Story Season 10
Part and parcel of American Horror Story‘s allure – you know, beyond the chilling terror and starry cast – is the anthology format. Ryan Murphy’s horror saga is fast approaching its 10th season on the airwaves, which is an achievement in and of itself. And sure enough, viewers have been hooked by the varying themes and settings woven into each individual installment – be it the blood-curdling terror of Murder House or the bat-shit insanity of Apocalypse.
House Of 1000 Corpses And More Coming To Shudder Next Month
We are *checks calendar* smack bang in that transition period between one month and another. A time when streaming services update their respective content libraries and gamers all over the world stand up and take notice of the new titles coming to Games With Gold and PS Plus. Spoilers: the latter is bringing out the big guns for June 2020.
Star Wars Battlefront II Will Reportedly Be Free On PS4 Next Month
Sony appears to be rolling out the AAA heavyweights for June’s PlayStation Plus lineup. Nipping at the heels of yesterday’s big addition (read: Call of Duty: WWII, which is available to download right now for PS Plus subscribers), speculation is rife that June’s second PS4 title will be of a similar AAA caliber. According to Reddit user ‘PlayStationGameplay’ (h/t Push Square), WWII will be joined by none other than Star Wars Battlefront II, DICE and EA’s sublime shooter sequel.
Magik And Wolfsbane Headline Latest Pics For The New Mutants
It’s no secret that The New Mutants has spent a long time teetering on the verge of release – too long, perhaps. In fact, it’s become something of a running gag, to the point where the Powers That Be recently (re)introduced Josh Boone’s X-Men spinoff be declaring “we’re back,” and slapping an August 2020 release date on the hood.
Awesome New Fan Art Imagines Keanu Reeves As The MCU's Wolverine
Not for the first time, Keanu Reeves has been rendered as the next Wolverine thanks to the powers of Photoshop (and other image editing tools). The latest piece of fan art comes to us by way of Instagram, where an artist by the username of ‘pabloruizzx’ gifted Reeves with those famous adamantium claws.
The TV Series Will Be "Pretty Much 100% Puppetry"
If previous Chucky films have adopted an ‘all thriller, no filler’ mantra, then Syfy’s upcoming TV series will be all puppetry and little-to-no CGI when it comes to animating that famous Devil Doll.
Why George Lucas Had Doubts About Introducing Yoda In Star Wars
On the 40th anniversary of Empire Strikes Back, arguably the greatest entry in the Skywalker Saga, series creator George Lucas sat down with StarWars.com to discuss everything from Death Star II to Vader, A New Hope to the birth of Lucasfilm.
Godzilla Vs. Kong Prequel Comic Reveals New Details About Warner's Monster Crossover
Though Warner Bros. and Legendary are seemingly mulling over the possibility of delaying Godzilla Vs. Kong into 2021, the Adam Wingard-directed crossover is still very much being positioned as the true centerpiece of the so-called MonsterVerse. Because after the Godzilla reboot, a prequel spinoff directing viewers to Skull Island, and last year’s Herculean sequel, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, the time has come for Gojira to come face-to-face with his most formidable opponent yet.
Harry Potter Author J.K Rowling Reveals Real-World Inspiration Behind Snape's Name
Even in a universe jam-packed with memorable characters, Severus Snape stands head and shoulders above the rest as a true Harry Potter legend. It’s only during The Deathly Hallows – Part II, after years of hate and contempt, that Warner’s film franchise reveals Snape to be something of a guardian angel to Harry; a guardian angel who helped protect him from the dark forces beyond the perimeters of Hogwarts, all without the Boy’s knowledge or understanding.
Netflix Original Film Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga Drops Next Month
By now, you’ve probably seen the viral video of Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams’ Icelandic crooners belting out a pop ballad. Entitled “Volcano Man,” it was a rather ingenious marketing stunt for Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga, the Netflix original film headed to the streaming platform next month – June 26th, to be specific. And this one promises to be a hoot.
Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Almost Placed Palpatine On Coruscant
“Exegol does not appear on any star chart. But legend describes it as the hidden world of the Sith.” Nor did it appear on any of our radars, as before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker launched into theaters, Exegol was an unknown entity – a total mystery located in the dark recesses of space. It later became the hiding place of Darth Sidious (“the dead speak!”), as J.J. Abrams and Co. sought about resurrecting the franchise’s big bad and his so-called Final Order.
One Of Robert Downey Jr.'s Most Underrated Movies Is Coming To Netflix Next Month
Ask anyone to name their favorite movie starring Robert Downey Jr. and you’ll likely be inundated by MCU titles – from Iron Man to The Avengers, Civil War to the truly epic Avengers: Endgame, RDJ has no shortage of great performances peppered throughout Marvel’s cinematic universe.
New Details Have Emerged About Ruby Rose's Surprise Exit From Batwoman
It’s official: Ruby Rose and Batwoman have gone their separate ways. In what is being described as an amicable split, both Rose and The CW released separate statements announcing the news, with the former conceding that, after much deliberation, she won’t be returning for Kate Kane’s second season. Fans have been left devastated by what is undoubtedly a surprising twist of fate, but based on Ruby Rose’s initial statement, the time had come for her to hang up the cape and cowl.
Watch: New Trailer Reveals Everything Coming To Netflix In June
Things are really beginning to heat up over on Netflix. The ever-popular streaming service has experienced a spike in demand due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, and that’s despite increased competition from the likes of Hulu, Amazon Prime, and the newfangled streaming service, Disney+, which touts big-name titles from Marvel, Pixar, and Lucasfilm. Netflix subscribers needn’t worry, though, as June 2020 is shaping up to be a very busy month indeed.
Gargoyles Creator Greg Weisman Wants To Redo The Show's Third Season
If you’re a ’90s kid, chances are you’re pretty familiar with Gargoyles, the animated series jam-packed with fantasy, rich characters, and a sprawling world. Had things panned out differently, Gargoyles would have been the centerpiece of an entire Disney universe, as revealed by Polygon. But history tells us that the cult animated series ended its run in 1997 after just three seasons.
Adam Sandler And LeBron James Team For Netflix Basketball Movie Hustle
With so many digital outlets vying for our attention, it seems we’re never too far away from the next streaming sensation. In 2020 alone, we’ve had season 2 of Sex Education, the so-bizarre-you-must-see-it-for-your-own-eyes Tiger King and, more recently, The Last Dance, Netflix’s definitive docuseries on the rise and rise of Michael Jordan. Even if you’re not a basketball fan, it’s an incredible account of Jordan and the 1990s Chicago Bulls, and has since earned rave reviews across the board.
Chris Hemsworth's Extraction Seemingly Includes A Nod To Thor
Even from the get-go, Extraction debuted on Netflix with some pretty lofty expectations. For one, it featured the God of Thunder himself, Chris Hemsworth, in the role of Tyler Rake, a hardened mercenary tasked with finding Ovi Mahajan (Rudhraksh Jaiswal), the son of an imprisoned Indian crime lord.
Michael Mann Plotting A Heat Prequel Movie
Few crime dramas are as engrossing and well-crafted as Michael Mann’s Heat. Initially released in ’95, it’s a true white-knuckle ride featuring best-in-class performances from Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. And that’s despite them barely share any screentime together. But when they do, it’s electric. Toss in Val Kilmer’s gun-toting Chris Shiherlis, and you have all the makings of a modern classic.
Halloween Kills Will Pay A Visit To Myers House
Get ready to revisit an iconic location from Haddonfield’s past. And by iconic, we mean a location so spooky – so downright chilling – it’ll curdle your blood. During a #HalloweenAtHome watch party this past weekend (h/t ComicBook.com), director David Gordon Green was placed in control of the Blumhouse Twitter account, and began fielding all kinds of questions relating to Halloween, Michael Myers, and everything in between.
Bill Murray Says He Greatly Missed Rick Moranis And Harold Ramis On Ghostbusters: Afterlife
For all of its nostalgia and star-powered action, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is missing something it simply cannot replace. That’s according to series legend Bill Murray, who appeared on The Ellen Show (remotely, of course) to discuss his role in the spooktacular sequel. When asked about the ways in which Afterlife expands upon the Ghostbusters lore, Murray touched base on Jason Reitman’s movie, before admitting that he “greatly missed” both Rick Moranis and Harold Ramis on set.
Spider-Man 3 Is Hiding A Spectacular Easter Egg From The First Film
Proving that Marvel movies still crammed in all kinds of Easter eggs before the advent of the MCU, one eagle-eyed viewer has spotted a really rather spectacular secret – a clever little detail, really – hidden in Spider-Man 3, the 2007 blockbuster sequel from Sam Raimi. The actioner will forever be remembered as the third and final chapter in Raimi’s trilogy (and arguably the weakest of the three, thanks in large part to its script issues and the decision to shoehorn in one too many villains).
Netflix Adds 2 New Movies And 12 New Shows Just In Time For The Weekend
With so many people across the world forced to stay indoors due to the Coronavirus pandemic, demand for Netflix has surged. Never before has the online streamer been so popular, and to keep its subscribers entertained, the Big N has today rolled out a slew of exciting additions to its lineup of content. That means from May 15th, Netflix subscribers will be able to access season 6 of Madam Secretary, all three seasons of Avatar: The Last Airbender, and sci-fi gem District 9.
Harry Potter Actor Jason Isaacs On Potential Remake Or Sequel
As far as Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) is concerned, Warner’s Harry Potter franchise belongs in the same echelon of film classics like The Godfather and Some Like it Hot – films so expertly crafted that a remake (or reboot) would be verging on “insanity.” Isaacs spoke to ComicBook.com ahead of the launch of SCOOB! (available today), in which he plays the wicked Dick Dastardly.
Chris Hemsworth Talks Crying On Cue For Netflix's Extraction
Sam Hargrave’s Extraction is on the verge of making Netflix history. Earlier this month, the Big N announced that Extraction, a hardboiled action movie featuring the God of Thunder himself, Chris Hemsworth, was “on its way” to becoming the biggest-ever Netflix film premiere, with an estimated 90 million households (!) sitting down to watch Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake in the first four weeks of release.
Samuel L. Jackson Thinks Mace Windu Is Still Alive In The Star Wars Universe
The dead speak! And no, it’s not Emperor Palpatine, but another character from Star Wars past. We’ll give you a clue: he wields a purple lightsaber and was forever remembered as a fan-favorite of the Old Republic. We are, of course, referring to Mace Windu, who died (?) at the hands of Darth Sidious (AKA Palpatine) during Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.
Deadpool 3 Unlikely To Happen Says Creator
It’s looking increasingly likely that Deadpool 3 won’t ever see the warm light of day. Though Ryan Reynolds is still very much committed to the Merc With a Mouth, and key figures from Marvel Studios (see: Kevin Feige) have gone on record to play down fears that Wade Wilson was about to fade into obscurity, the man behind Deadpool, Rob Liefeld, recently admitted that Marvel doesn’t have any plans for a third standalone Deadpool movie.
Extraction Director Strapped Himself To The Hood Of A Car For 12-Minute Chase Scene
Say what you will about Extraction‘s story and at-times gratuitous violence, but Netflix’s high-octane thriller is a technical marvel – thanks, in large part, to director Sam Hargrave, who at one point strapped himself to the hood of a car to capture the best angle of a particular scene. That “oner” in question is, of course, the 12-minute car chase sequence involving Chris Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake.
Godzilla: King Of The Monsters Almost Featured This Surprising Kaiju Team-Up
If 2014’s Godzilla movie was forced to scale back on the Kaiju – thanks in large part to licensing issues – then its blockbuster sequel, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, dialed things up to 11. From Mothra to Rodan to the three-headed King Ghidorah, Mike Dougherty’s MonsterVerse follow-up truly took things to another level, resulting in some of the best live-action Kaiju cinematics we’ve seen in a very long time.
Titans Spinoff Series Seemingly On The Cards Despite Launch Of HBO Max
It has been a turbulent few weeks for the DC Universe. With the launch of HBO Max looming over the horizon (ETA: May 27th), many fear that Warner’s superpowered streaming service will be left out in the cold – overshadowed by a premier service with a raft of digital content for the entire family. There is no smoke without fire, after all.
You Can Watch John Wick Online For Free This Friday
John Wick is a man of many titles – master assassin, Baba Yaga, that one guy who managed to kill three men in a bar with a fucking pencil… you name it. He’s also a bona fide action icon, thanks to Chad Stahelski’s 2014 neo-noir revenge thriller that launched John Wick into the headlines.
Children Of The Corn Remake Coming From Equilibrium Director
The Coronavirus pandemic has truly affected every facet of filmmaking – from big-name Hollywood blockbusters like Black Widow to small indie films gestating in development. And with theaters closed, major studios like Universal have explored a straight-to-digital model – much to the chagrin of AMC and Regal. But that’s a whole other story.
New Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Screenshots Showcase New Fighters And Friendships
The word ‘friendship’ is unlikely to spring to mind when one thinks of Mortal Kombat – a video game franchise known for its brutal fights and bone-crunching Fatalities. And yet, with the forthcoming Aftermath DLC for Mortal Kombat 11, developer NetherRealm Studios is delivering some of the funniest, friendliest content ever seen in an MK game. Think Scorpion saying “get over here!” to a life-sized teddy bear. Yes, it’s Mortal Kombat all right… but not as you know it.
Neve Campbell Hints At Possible Return For Sidney In Scream 5
We haven’t seen the last of Ghostface, it seems. Like all other modern horror legends (Leatherface, Freddy, Jason), Ghostface never really went away – the dreaded Scream killer has always teetered on the fringes of development, waiting for that green light and another chance to terrorize unsuspecting teenagers. Fast forward to 2020, and the Powers That Be have given the go-ahead for Scream 5, placing Ready or Not directors Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett behind the wheel.
Fantastic Four Director "Slept With Loaded Gun" After Death Threats Over Michael B. Jordan Casting
As self-professed comic book movie fans, we often look back on Josh Trank’s 2015 reboot of Fantastic Four and wonder what could have been. With a kick-ass ensemble in tow (Miles Teller! Michael B. Jordan! Kate Mara!), not to mention the director of fan-favorite Chronicle at the helm, expectations were understandably high.
Sylvester Stallone On Possibility Of A New Rocky Movie
Have we really seen the last of the Italian Stallion? Sylvester Stallone’s bruised boxer became a pop culture icon throughout the 70s and 80s, rising to each and every challenge that was thrust before him – even when it arrived in the form of Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren) in Rocky IV. Fast forward to the modern era, and Rocky took on more of a mentor role for the Creed franchise, a spinoff series in which Michael B. Jordan’s boxing prodigy Adonis takes center stage.
US Netflix Subscribers Averaging 3+ Hours Of Streaming Per Day
The Coronavirus pandemic has spread its tentacles to the four corners of the Earth, infecting millions and bringing normal life screeching to a halt. Without a vaccine, governments of the world have been forced to impose strict lockdown procedures, all the while encouraging people to stay at home and practice social distancing.
Demolition Man 2 Is Officially Moving Forward - And The Internet Is Freaking Out
It’s coming – and it’s looking fantastic. We are, of course, referring to Sylvester Stallone’s megaton announcement on Instagram confirming that Demolition Man 2, a sequel to the cult classic from ’93, is officially moving forward at Warner Bros. It seems we haven’t seen the last of John Spartan – far from it, in fact. Details are scarce at the moment, but we do know that Stallone is actively involved in the long-rumored sequel.
Original Six Avengers Assemble For Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards Video
Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Robert Downey Jr. are all remarkable individuals in their own right. But together, they are more – together, they are Earth’s Mightiest Heroes… better known to you, I, and Nick Fury as The Avengers. Yes, it’s more than 8 years since Iron Man and Co. first came together and launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the stratosphere. And what a saga it has been.
Nicolas Cage Will Play Tiger King's Joe Exotic For New Scripted Series
BREAKING: Nicolas Cage, Hollywood’s master of eccentricity, may well have landed his most bizarre role yet. According to Variety, the Oscar-winning star is set to headline a new scripted drama as Joe Exotic, an exotic zookeeper otherwise known as the Tiger King. Exotic (real name: Joe Schreibvogel) was the subject of a Netflix docuseries earlier this year, and has since become something of an Internet phenomenon.
Game Of Thrones Star Says She'd Love To Play Deadpool
We are by no means the first (nor are we likely to be the last) website to consider Ryan Reynolds a perfect fit as Wade Wilson, but sometimes it’s difficult to determine where Reynolds ends and Deadpool begins. Long-time fans of the Merc With a Mouth will know that Reynolds spent years campaigning for a live-action (and, crucially, R-rated) Deadpool movie, leading to the fortuitous moment when 20th Century Fox’s test footage leaked online. And the rest is history.
Avengers: Endgame Writers Almost Gave Black Widow A Proper Funeral
Though she’s on the verge of getting her own spinoff movie, Black Widow was one of two major causalities in Avengers: Endgame – the other being Tony Stark, of course, everyone’s favorite genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist. There’s just one difference: the entire MCU gathered to pay their respects to Stark after his heroic sacrifice, while Black Widow was given a sort of mini-funeral, when Earth’s Mightiest Heroes realized that they were, in fact, the only family she ever had.
Avengers: Endgame Directors Confirm That Only Smart Hulk Exists In The MCU Now
Avengers: Endgame was a watershed moment in the MCU for many reasons. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo crammed so much character development into their three-hour runtime that even now, more than one year after its theatrical debut, the Internet continues to pore over each and every frame with a mixture of curiosity and sheer wonderment. Indeed, earlier this week, the Russo Brothers re-watched Avengers: Endgame in its entirety, and tweeted out some fun Marvel-related trivia.
Regal Cinemas Joins AMC, Will No Longer Show Universal Pictures Movies
You know that iconic Universal Pictures logo? The one where giant silver letters envelop the Earth? It won’t be shown at AMC Theaters anytime soon. Why? Because AMC, the largest cinema chain in the United States, has announced a blanket ban on all Universal films, after the latter studio declared it would continue to release movies simultaneously via theaters and streaming once the social restrictions brought on by Coronavirus are lifted.
Guillermo Del Toro Explains Why Hellboy 3 Will Never Happen
It’s going on *checks calendar* 12 years since Hellboy waged war against the Golden Army, and we’re beginning to wish Big Red – the Guillermo del Toro version, that is – hung around long enough to enjoy the Golden Age of Superhero Movies. Had things panned out differently, we may have got a chance to see del Toro and co. create an R-rated Hellboy movie, one which prodded the darker corners of Mike Mignola’s source material.
It's John Wick Vs. Tyler Rake In This Incredible Extraction Fan Art
One’s a gruff one-man-army capable of leveling an entire city in his pursuit of justice, the other’s John Wick, who is essentially the living incarnation of the Boogeyman – no, wait, that’s not right; John’s the man you send to kill the fucking Boogeyman. But we digress. With the Chris Hemsworth-starring Extraction topping Netflix charts all over the globe, renowned concept artist BossLogic has rendered a new piece that imagines a face-off between Tyler Rake (Hemsworth) and the inimitable Wick.
Sam Hargrave And Joe Russo Hope To Continue Extraction With Prequel Or Sequel
Let’s cut straight to the chase: whether you liked it or lumped it, Extraction has been a bona fide hit for Netflix. Headed up by MCU veteran Chris Hemsworth – and featuring another MCU alumni in writer-producer Joe Russo (Avengers: Endgame) – the brutal war drama topped streaming charts all over the globe, sparking speculation that a sequel could be afoot at Netflix.
Netflix Pulls The Plug On Idris Elba's Turn Up Charlie – And Viewers Aren't Happy
Charlie turned up, scratched some records, and has now been given his marching orders by Netflix. Variety reports today that the Idris Elba-fronted music drama, Turn Up Charlie, has been canned after just one season. The comedy, which featured Elba as a struggling DJ and eternal bachelor, carved out a loyal audience since it premiered on Netflix late last month. Alas, it looks like Turn Up Charlie is less of a DJ sensation and more of a one-hit-wonder.
