Interview

How is social media changing news?

Social media has made news faster, more interactive, and more accessible. People now get updates in real time and can instantly react, share opinions, and shape conversations themselves, which creates both more engagement and more pressure to verify information quickly.

What's your favorite social network?

I enjoy platforms where people can exchange ideas and learn from each other, so I’d probably say LinkedIn and Quora. LinkedIn is great for professional conversations and industry insights, while Quora is for in-depth discussions and real questions from people looking to learn.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

One story I’m especially proud of working on is sharing insights about long-term real estate investing and helping people better understand what creates lasting value in a property. There’s a lot of noise around quick wins and market trends, so I enjoy writing about the bigger picture — things like location, tenant experience, cash flow, and building sustainable investments over time. If something I write helps someone make a smarter decision or look at investing differently, that’s always rewarding to me.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

When I’m not at a computer, I’m usually exploring Kansas City, traveling, or catching a sporting event. I enjoy seeing different communities, learning what makes cities grow, and staying connected to the energy that sports and local culture bring to a place.
