Getting Started with the Basics: Navigating Linux Like a Hacker
Before we dive into the commands, it helps to know where you are in the system. Unlike Windows, Linux organizes everything under a single root directory: . Here's a quick rundown of the most important folders you’ll encounter: • – The root directory. Every file and folder starts here it's the top-level parent of the entire filesystem. • – Contains personal directories for each user. Your files, configs, and downloads live here (e.g., ). • – System-wide configuration files.
Creating a System Restore Point (Windows 11)
System Restore is a built in Windows recovery tool that allows users to revert their system to a previous (hopefully unaffected) working state without affecting personal files. It’s particularly useful after failed updates, driver issues, or minor system corruption.

Mike Sheahan aka hypocrite
#6 So we've finally found something we can all agree on. Luckily we in Adelaide don't get Mike's tripe fed to us in our papers but we do get to see him on talking footy. There he also continues to mention Buckley. Week after week trying to get Blighty to support his idea that Nathan is the greatest. Just on Blighty, & i do worship the bloke, he has lost the plot a bit with some of his ideas. Back to Mike. the laughing clowns at the show is a perfect description.
Taking The mark #8
Taking The Mark # 8 Hello and welcome to this week’s edition of Taking The Mark. In case you didn’t know, this is the newsletter companion to The Footy Plus One Show, the only American hosted show about Australian Rules Football on the Internet. This is a reminder telling you that the latest show is up and running.
Umpires
Bomber... I agree changing the decision is worrying... But I think in that case, the correct decision was made, and it did not interrupt the play much (not like he made a decision then called play on)... I think umpires changing their decision can be ok in certain circumstances... such as when McLeod dropped that chestmark vs collingwood that was paid before he held it. When he dropped it, instead of giving him the kick, the umpire should have said: "I made a mistake, but can't call play on...
Stop Americanising our game
Yes and they still don't understand the metric system, still have 1 and 2 cent pieces, and their sense of humour is so primitive and stupid that irony and sarcasm go straight over their heads But seriously - I can't stand American popular culture anymore than you guys (although I use 'freakking' instead of the other 'f' word) but some American practices have actually helped our game enormously.
Best AFL/VFL Team in History
gocatsgo I was wondering when someone would querie Antrobus. He's in my team because he is the best rover I've seen. Because of injury he never produced his best form at VFL level but for North Adelaide he was briliant. On more than 1 occasion he thrashed John Platten to the point where Platten would start in the pocket so that the Ant could be tagged. The same with Robran (Barrie) in the middle. He is the best footballer I have ever seen bar none.
Bombers Forever Still the same
I see big footy boards is still just a pseudo Bombers forum. More tragedy and Essendon regurgitation fed to the mass of plebs. What a waste of time. No intelligent football discussion here (including this post). Get a life.
SHOULD INJURED PLAYERS BE FORCED TO TAKE THEIR KICKS?
#6 The rule works fine as it is - if a player is injured, he can give the kick to the *nearest* player providing he goes off - in this case Lloyd WAS the nearest player (watch the tape, he is right next to blumfield when he takes the mark) and therefore there is no reason, other than incompetancy, why Lloyd was not given the kick.
Collingwood are going downhill
Originally posted by hawkfan5: Collingwood are gone. They beat good teams in Carlton and Hawthorn as well as 3 other teams and now have lost three in a row against Essendon, North and Freo(rubbish), I think they will only win 5 more games for the season and not make the finals. The Hawks will finish in the top 6 in 2000. Go Hawks.
Hawthorn youngsters
#2 Hell were going to win it this year,Hawkfan. You have to think positive Actually I think we are very similar to where the Dons were two/three years ago. They had at that stage Lloyd,Lucas,Carecella,Blumfield and the like coming through. We could equate that to Croad,Hay,Thommo and such. Essendon saw the need to bring in some hard nuts to and the Johnson's,fatty finn (barnard for those that dont know) are now really established senior list players.
David Wirrpunda 's Injury
#11 I've heard three months on the sidelines I dont know if you know this, but Wirra's had the problems since he was born. The middle section of his foot, is actually wider than his toes and heel (they look pretty funny actually). His feet are also really flat. A consequence of this is that his shins "twist" (his word -not mine) when he runs, and that's what causes his shin splints and now stress fracture.
The itchy and SCRATCHY show!!!!!
#11 Pithy comments as usual from Joel. For my money there were long scratch marks - and the blood was visible when the player in question was walking from the ground. I'm not a Lions or Dogs supporter either. Having spoken to players (including one who e-mailed abuse to me recently, but I'll leave that out of all this. I might post the letter as it is quite funny.
Lies, damn lies and Colonial Stadium
The AFL made so many promises regarding Colonial Stadium and failed to keep them. At this rate Wayne Jackson could be our next Prime Minister with his peculiar talent for bare-faced lies.
Seriously, Shannon Grant incident
I hope not either RooBoy96 We might be passionate about our footy but I can't really see us going the way of Europe and its on-going problems with Soccer hooliganism. Australians are just too laid-back and we still believe in things like a fair go, reasonable-ness and a fair-minded perspective on things like footy for it to start happening here. Thats what I would like to think anyway ...
The Footy Show
#7 Remember the show when it first started? It is a ppoor reflection now on how far it has fallen. If the moron programers at 7 had any idea they would put the game on DIRECTLY against it at 9-30, sure the collingwood fans and the women( sorry for the sexsit bit but thats what the polls say make up a large % of the viewers) then while maybe it wouldnt beat the footy show bet it would make a hell of a dent in the ratings.
Crows for Wooden Spoon
#3 Much as Im enjoying seeing someelse travelling worse than the hawks are at the minute, yeah maybe the crows do have the core of their back to back side out there but to be fair their best tow players are both the shadows of what they were. Mcleod I dont really know how bad his knees are, but rehn I sure do. And rehn isnt a tenth of the footballer that he once was. Still glad it aint the Hawks on the bottom though
umpires; Melb v Rich
The umpires in the Melbourne v Richmond game were a disgrace. The worst I have ever seen. It definatly cost the Dees the match. Richmond got so many frees in front of goal and what was paid to one side was not to the other. I will admit that Melbourne got a few funny decisions like the Cook marks but overall the umps ruined them. Richmond were very lucky to win that game.
Who is sick and tired of this tv rights, john elliot, eddie mccguire crap ??????
Shinboner It was me who said the Dons are probably due for a loss - 8 on the trot is about as many as most sides win before they get a bit cocky. That said, I would be surprised if Hawthorn have the man power to do it this week - they are very promising squad but for this week I can't see Salmon or Thompson being fit and if they play them unfit then forget it.
To Staggy
Matt, Great effort mate! From your posts on my topic (yes...i have been checking it out), you are clearly well informed, quite intelligent and you sure do know how to destroy an argument (although it wasn't much of one to begin with anyway!!) i put that post up, because, there ARE a lot of collingwood bandwagon jumpers who jump on when the team begins to play well, and i STILL stand by that statement. Clearly, you are not one of them though, which is fantastic to see.
Some help required pls...
Cheers folks Doesn't help me much as I've already picked my overall squad - just looking for this week's selections. Shinboner you might be interested to note that the squad includes Lange, Motlop, Makepeace, Carey and Welsh (albeit it an x-roo) - of all those guys I'm currently getting the best return out of Welsh! I picked up Fevola but missed Hewitt. When selecting it was a toss up btn Crawford, Harvey and Bell - went for Crawford - bummer hey?? Rgds Dutch PS.
Donalds Invites Taylor Swift To Join Trump Campaign
Republicans, Trump cultists “Taylor Swift sees what everybody else sees. Joe Biden’s really not here. He’s not with us. You know, he’s doing, I guess, the best he can. But the stature and the image of leadership that Americans expect in the United States presidency is not embodied by Joe Biden. Habba: Judges Try To "Make Me Appear To Be Stupid"
Trump Corruption, Trump Lies “I think that we’re seeing a painful, unfortunately, jury selection because we’re in the state of New York, which is definitely by design. “There is no question that Bragg bringing this in New York – look at the Fulton County D.A., and so on and so forth, Washington, D.C., – these venues are selected exactly for this reason. “Judges admonishing the defendant like today, I’ve seen it time and time again. Top tips for Winter
Inside Winter Maintenance Here in the northern hemisphere winter means machinery maintenance. With less mowing the workshop will now be busier with annual servicing and checks to make sure each and every machine is running to the best of its ability. Even more so for machinery needed in the field during the harder, harsher mowing conditions that winter brings.
It's playoff time for KHS, Sabine
Kilgore’s boys basketball program has ended a couple-of-season drought from the UIL Class 4A playoffs, and Sabine’s boys are looking for a lengthy playoff run. Those programs are both in a bit of a holding pattern – more on that below – but the girls teams from both schools are in the here and now. Kilgore’s Lady Bulldogs and Sabine’s Lady Cardinals both had finished their regular season early last week, and knew they were in the postseason.
Should Server Internet Connection be based solely on Internet Speed?
We are running our own server and our country's ISP is telling us that we should run it with their T1 Copper Line with 2mb DL & UL. Right now it is running on a Fiber Line with 8mb DL & UL. They say that the T1 would be better since it is connected straight to the internet backbone while our current Fiber line does not. Right now our users are running on 1mb to 2mb DSL Speeds.
Postfix (Ubuntu 14.04) SSL Certificates Differ - Anything to really worry about?
I've got an Ubuntu 14.04 server running Postfix - which is sending mail via an external host (Mandrill). I've got no issues sending email - but (prior to disabling TLS - which seems to have caused no issue) - on each email sent I'd get the error - Since disabling TLS I no longer get the warning when sending an email (not supprising) - however it's seen on starting the service (and on scheduled cron service checks). The server hosts multiple domains - but only sends emails from one.
In Pennsylvania can you make a right hand turn on a red arrow?
You were right. You are not allowed to turn on a red arrow. The Pennsylvania Driver's Manual says you can turn right on red after stopping, but only at a steady red light, unless a sign is present prohibiting such a turn. (This is actually true in almost all of the United States, with the notable exception of Manhattan, a borough of New York City.) However, at some intersections, such as the one you mentioned, you may see a red arrow.
Linux says my space is full with 2.4/50gb used
Today I ran across a problem and I'm not sure if it's a wrong configuration of my hosting provider, because I haven't changed anything about the file system. df -h says: df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/simfs 50G 2.4G 0 100% / It says it's 100% used, but only 2.4G of 50 are really in use. I've also tried to delete some logfiles which were big, but it didn't help. I've also checked with "du -sh *" if there's anything big, but couldn't find anything large. Anyone has an idea?

After crossing the Henry Hudson Bridge without an E-ZPass, you normally should receive a toll bill within 30 days. However, you might not have received one if the address of your vehicle registration is not your current address, or if the equipment at the toll plaza was malfunctioning when you drove through. If you didn't receive a toll bill, you should call 1-800-333-8655.
Are camping fees in California per person or per spot?
Recreation.gov lists camping and RV sites at U.S. national parks, forests and other federal land. The nightly fee shown is per site, and you're allowed up to the maximum number of people shown for that site. (I've stayed at quite a few of these campgrounds.) When you actually go to book your campsite, the web site will tell you the maximum number of people allowed to camp on the campsite. Your fee covers that many people.
Prefer IPv4 incoming connections over IPv6
IPv6/IPv4 preference is determined by the initiator of a connection, i.e. the web browser. The address selection rules are defined in RFC 6724. While these can be overridden, it is only by the user reconfiguring their operating system. The only way you can force someone to use IPv4 is to not offer IPv6 at all. Obviously this is not a practical solution even in the medium term...
