Don’t Kill the Take-Home Paper
The advent of artificial intelligence might radically transform education at Harvard. Let’s not let the take-home paper be one of the casualties. Concerns about AI-enabled cheating have triggered proposals to dramatically overhaul take-home assignments — including by permitting AI use, changing how they are graded, or even turning our back on them entirely.
Dissent: We’re Glad The Game’s at Fenway
Harvard-Yale is moving to Fenway Park this year. We think that’s a good thing. The change in venue affords members of both universities’ communities an opportunity to carry on our intercollegiate heritage with an exciting, meaningful twist. It is true that repetition breeds indifference. When news broke of deadly shootings at the Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee or at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, for example, I frowned at my phone, then went on with my day.
