My professional career started in an unlikely place. With a broken relationship, a bar, and political opinions.
Relationships are difficult. My first one of nearly seven years didn't end well, but it did (among other things) inspire me and my father to open a bar.
There I spent another six years of my life learning how to manage a business with $500,000 in gross reciepts, six employees and everything else that goes with owning a business. All of that started in 2014 when I was the ripe old age of 23.
One day, a wild hair grew and I decided to write an opinion piece. That piece was published in the second largest newspaper in Colorado. The second piece I had ever written was published in the largest newspaper in Colorado two days later.
From there, I started writing for a start-up digital newspaper while we were, unfortunately, looking for a buyer for the bar. Eventually, I had the good fortune of finding that TheGamer.com was looking for contributors. They were lucky enough to take me on.
Here I stand, incredibly thankful to have been given the chance to write about and report on an industry that is near and dear to my heart. I appreciate what The Gamer is doing, and I'm looking forward to growing in this industry with everyone else involved.
