Michael “Mac” McCullough

Mac leads a multimedia newsroom committed to the idea that excellent community journalism fosters systemic change for the benefit of all citizens. The Enquirer’s guiding principles read “We believe that all people should have equal opportunity in life, that our children should go to good schools and that our citizens live in safe, health neighborhoods.”

A native of western Pennsylvania, Mac received his journalism degree from West Virginia University in 1987 and held several reporting and editing positions in New Jersey and Connecticut before settling in Battle Creek in 1998.

He was a Robert R. McCormick Tribune Foundation fellow and attended the Maynard Institute for Journalism Education’s Management Training.

When he's not working, Mac is playing baseball or basketball with his son, 14, running or enjoying the outdoors.
