I wonder if Brandon Turner felt like this
@Michael Salamone this is the hardest lesson to learn in this business. You can be very kind and understanding to a tenant. You can give them gifts and discounts on rent. You can let them have three dogs. You can waive late fees and repair things they break. You can let them stay for months without paying rent, after a series of broken promises. Then when you finally send them notice to "pay or quit", they turn into horrible people. Never seek to understand.

If the Senate confirms Amy Coney Barrett, it could harm Americans’ view of the Supreme Court’s legitimacy
This week, the Senate Judiciary Committee starts its controversial hearings on President Trump’s most recent nominee for the United States Supreme Court, Judge Amy Coney Barrett. Before Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died last month, the Supreme Court had five conservative Republican appointees and four liberal Democratic appointees.
Analysis | Unlike the Supreme Court, state courts have responded quickly to the pandemic. Here’s why.
On May 4, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments by phone — and let the world listen in via live stream (and just two days later, this innovation rang in the court’s first audible toilet flush). What’s more, the court is moving to have advocates file motions and briefs online. Prompted by the coronavirus pandemic, these firsts have been startling from an institution that has never allowed its arguments to be broadcast and has long resisted any change.
Salamone Wants to Help Fix Stuff: Income Inequality
While every Trump supporter hides their support of racism behind the myth of a booming economy, it’s important to remember that at record rates, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Sure, billionaire wealth-hoarders get to hoard more wealth, but the average American is much worse off than ever before in our nation’s history. The Federal poverty threshold in 2017 was $24,858 for a family of four.
Senator Claire McCaskill Gets Primary Challenger Over Single-Payer Healthcare by @msainat1
Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO), one of the most conservative Democrats in the Senate, has developed a reputation with progressives for reducing and criticizing several progressive policies that are growing in popularity. Just weeks earlier, she pleaded for help from Bernie Sanders supporters to help her get re-elected. “All of you who are Bernie supporters … I need you. I want you. I want to talk to you.
Progressive Heartbreak: Where is Warren?
When I was a child there was a particular athlete whom I looked up to, a ‘hero’ I suppose in my childish mind. One day it was announced that this athlete would be appearing in my town. My father and I traveled to the venue early and stood outside in the cold hoping that we might see my man. Sure enough, about an hour before the event, a limo pulled up and out he stepped. I approached him nervously, a pen and paper in my shaking hands, and asked for his autograph.

Trump's Presidency Would Not Have Been Possible Without Clintonism by @BethLynch2020
There was a time when the Democratic Party was considered the party of movements and changing the status quo. Democrats were champions of equality, the working class, the New Deal, women’s rights and Civil Rights. In effect, the Democratic Party was the people’s party. In this role, Democrats served as a foil to conservatism, inequality, and to the injustices of bigotry and poverty. Over the last 50 years, progressives have watched as the Democratic Party tore itself apart over the Vietnam War.

Her Dubious Battles
“Out of all this struggle a good thing is going to grow. That makes it worthwhile.” ― John Steinbeck, In Dubious Battle If at any point I believe it’s not possible for Bernie Sanders to become President, I will be open, honest and tell you that in both these weekly columns and on my podcast. The Yellow Badge of Journalism
Like a majority of Americans, I have trust issues. According to a Gallup poll at the end of last year, a majority of Americans distrust that the media is giving them fair and accurate information. Only 28% of America has faith that the news is telling them the truth. Apparently we need to wake up this 28% to the fact that journalism is dying too. The Gallop findings aren’t that surprising, especially in a media landscape owned by fewer and fewer major corporations.
