That evening I turned on SNL and the musical guest was a new band that had just recorded their first album. That band was DEVO. Having been an avid fan of Zappa and Beefheart since their first albums, I was totally gob smacked by their music and theatrics. Instant love affair.

It's so bad, that it's actually good! LOL! I was big into HDR at the time, and went a little nuts on this one. It's actually the Milwaukee River on a rainy day in Whitefish Bay, a suburb of Milwaukee. I spent a lot of time at this spot fifty years ago.

Am I the only one finding New Year eve shows basically unwatchable?
All of them were really worthless to watch. Andy & Anderson seemed like they were just trying to kill the time with senseless drivel. Andy - was drinking quite heavily and appeared pretty drunk and boisterous (just like a drunk that can't handle their booze). Anderson was trying to make fun of Andy - but I think at times - he was embarrassed. Ryan Seacrest was trying to do his Dick Clark impression. Badly. I never liked this guy and still don't. Didn't dwell on his broadcast at all.
We'll have five beautiful, perfect days in 2022 and then it's down to business.
