How to use Seagate hard drive for both Mac and Windows
7 I recently bought a Seagate for Mac 1 TB external hard drive. When I connect to my MacBook through the FireWire, it works fine, but I also have media on my Dell laptop which is running Windows Vista. When I connect the hard drive to that laptop using the USB cable, Windows doesn't recognize it. What am I doing wrong?
"The Dude abides" — what does "abide" mean in that context?
I'm unfamilar with the word "abide" which is famously used the the movie quote "The Dude abides" (The Big Lebowski). Looking it up in a German/English dictionary makes me believe it's "The Dude lives on", but I heard the word used on a way that makes it seem to be a variant of "approve", as in "The Dude does not abide this behavior". I hear it used as "to obey" a lot, as in "we must all abide by the rules".

Is there a graphics card for 2010 Mac Pro that supports 4K?
I have a Mid 2010 Mac Pro with the stock Radeon 5770 card. I know the card doesn't officially support 4k resolutions, even though there are some tricks that work at a low refresh rate. I want 3840x2160 in 60 Hz, so I'd need a new graphics card. But I remember that I can't just get any PCIe card since they need a special Mac BIOS. I know there used to be Mac-specific graphics cards, but these no longer seem to be available. Is there a supported way to upgrade my graphics card? (I'm running Mac OS X.
