Rock Review: Rockit Science
Relocating to Middletown, in the early ‘90s, Gallipani was asked to help organize a talent show at his daughter’s school. He enjoyed it so much that he considered bringing students together on a regular basis to rehearse and perform together, instead of the students just practicing alone at home. Grateful for his onstage success in the past, Gallipani decided it was time to “give back” and help mentor some of today’s youth, just as his mentor Fred Ferrara did for him so many years ago in Brooklyn.

Get Planting: Spring Has Sprung
It’s not the snow that spring gardeners worry about. Snow acts as a kind of insulation. It’s the below freezing temperatures, icy winds and freezing rain that keep us from planting those cold weather vegetables, pansies and especially peas that traditionally go into the ground on St. Patrick’s Day in New Jersey. But there are ways around this, especially if you have not yet started your seeds indoors for cold weather crops outdoors.

Holmdel Rec Survey Results Highlight Residents’ Wishes
HOLMDEL – Holmdel residents find time to visit recreation areas every week. They like hiking and walking trails. And on their wish list? More adult fitness programs and a summer concert series, too. Those were some of the takeaways from the results of a township-wide recreation survey that reached 1,184 of the 5,834 households in Holmdel over a one-month span near the end of last year.

SHREWSBURY – Can we do more to impact the community in a positive way? This is the question David Levy posed when he accepted the role of president at the Guild of Creative Arts (GCA), as he considered how the 58-year-old nonprofit artist cooperative at 620 Broad St. could influence and extend its reach. Shrewsbury’s Colorful Citizen, ‘Banana George’
