Michaela Rush’s Biography

Michaela Rush is a reporter with the Fredericksburg Standard-Radio Post. She covers the Fredericksburg and Gillespie County communities, including education, sports, business and general news.

She was previously a Report for America corps member at Dallas Free Press, covering West and South Dallas communities. She also was a member of the inaugural HEAL fellowship class through the Solutions Journalism Network.

She completed her undergraduate degree in English at Texas A&M University in May 2023, following three years of involvement at The Battalion Student Newspaper. At The Battalion, Michaela covered entertainment, local businesses, student government, campus administration, LGBTQ+ topics and more during her time as a reporter, and also served as the life & arts editor, news editor, and most recently editor-in-chief.
