Michael Rastiello has long called Dover, New Jersey, his home. Though he briefly relocated to Florida in 2021, the pull of familiarity and the importance of family brought him back to New Jersey in 2023. Now 66 years old, he shares his life with his wife of 44 years, their three children, and four grandchildren. His return to the community he knows well reflects a lifelong pattern of remaining grounded and close to what matters most.
From an early stage, he developed a strong connection to routine, responsibility, and structure. These values became the foundation of both his personal life and professional journey. He has maintained a lifelong dedication to health and fitness, not as a passing interest, but as a steady part of his daily life. His consistent approach also extended to his years of coaching youth sports. Whether on the football field or softball diamond, his emphasis was always on showing up, improving steadily, and helping others find strength in themselves.
He received his academic training from Kennedy Western University and the Academy of Advanced Transportation. Still, much of what he learned came from direct experience. He developed his skills by taking on challenges and finding solutions through years of work in logistics. His respect for practical knowledge and repetition influenced how he approached his career and led teams.
His professional life was centered around logistics, where he spent over 30 years building a career defined by reliability and careful management. For 24 years, he served as Director of Logistics and Transportation at Casio America. In this role, he oversaw critical global supply chain operations and managed complex freight networks with professionalism and calm. His dependable leadership earned him recognition as Employee of the Year in 2005 and again in 2009, a testament to his lasting contributions.
Outside of work, he invested deeply in coaching and mentoring. Over the course of three decades, he guided young athletes in football, softball, and baseball. He led the Rockaway Township Football Program for over 20 years and spent a total of 34 years coaching youth and high school football. His teams won championships and even achieved undefeated seasons, but the victories were never the main goal. His focus was on building character, promoting teamwork, and creating a supportive environment where young people could learn and grow.
His coaching accomplishments were acknowledged through a nomination to the Morris County Youth Football Hall of Fame and a mayoral proclamation honoring his years of service to the township's sports community. He also coached softball for a decade, helping a 12-and-under team achieve a state championship, and contributed five years to youth baseball coaching. His influence touched many families and shaped the lives of numerous young athletes over the years.
Now retired, he remains active and engaged in causes that align with his values. He supports organizations such as the ASPCA and St. Jude Children’s Hospital, contributing quietly and without seeking recognition. Retirement is not a time for him to step back, but an opportunity to return to what he values—time with his grandchildren, personal well-being, and contributing in meaningful ways.
His life has never been about headlines or high-profile moments. Instead, he built a reputation through consistency, humility, and commitment to others. Whether in logistics or coaching, he showed that real leadership often happens behind the scenes through steady effort and trust earned over time.
