Mike Jon’s Biography

With over a decade of experience in investigative journalism and digital storytelling, I've cultivated a unique perspective at the intersection of traditional reporting and new media narratives. As both a project writer and field correspondent for leading publications including The Metropolitan Chronicle and Digital Frontiers Magazine, I've covered stories ranging from grassroots social movements to technological disruptions in developing economies.

My journey began in local news, where I cut my teeth reporting on city council meetings and community initiatives. This foundation in community journalism evolved into a specialized focus on tech policy and its societal impacts. A defining moment in my career came in 2019 when my six-month investigation into data privacy practices in educational institutions earned the Regional Excellence in Technology Reporting Award.

Currently serving as a senior project writer at The Global Review, I lead a team of researchers and writers in producing long-form narratives that explore the human dimensions of technological change. My work has been featured in various international publications, and I frequently contribute as a media analyst on broadcast networks.

Beyond traditional journalism, I've pioneered several digital storytelling initiatives, including "Voices of Innovation," a multimedia project that documents the stories of underrepresented entrepreneurs in the tech sector. My commitment to ethical reporting and digital literacy has led me to develop workshops for emerging journalists, focusing on the integration of data journalism with traditional narrative techniques.

When not chasing stories or mentoring aspiring journalists, I collaborate with various non-profit organizations to promote media literacy and democratic values through journalism. This combination of investigative rigor, digital innovation, and community engagement continues to shape my approach to storytelling in our rapidly evolving media landscape.
