Opinion: Keep the tradition alive — Congress should pass a bipartisan WRDA in 2026
Some traditions are worth preserving. For more than a decade, Congress has demonstrated that despite some political differences, it can come together to strengthen America’s infrastructure through the Water Resources Development Act. Since 2014, lawmakers have successfully passed WRDA legislation every two years, providing the certainty needed to modernize our inland waterways and support the industries that depend on them. That bipartisan tradition should continue in 2026.
The Harvest Economy shows rural America’s vital role
The National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) recently released The Harvest Economy, a landmark economic impact study quantifying the vital role America’s grain and feed industry plays in jobs, wages, tax revenues and economic growth. Conducted by John Dunham & Associates, the analysis is the most detailed look yet at the sector’s economic footprint at the national, state and congressional district levels.
Opinion: American farmers need Innovative FEED Act now
When you stare into the eyes of a bull, can you tell if his systems are working properly? Likely not, as a complete veterinary exam is needed to rule out any underlying problems. As a large animal veterinarian, we know that former Rep. By Mike Seyfert, NGFA President and CEO It is both humbling and inspiring to lead the National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) as it commemorates its 125th anniversary. Before I outline the ambitious and exciting goals our members have designated in this landmark year, I’ll first reflect on a bit of history… Launched by 38 grain dealers gathered in Room 111 of Chicago’s Saratoga Hotel on Nov.
NGFA President and CEO Mike Seyfert Thanks Predecessor Randy Gordon…
By MIKE SEYFERT, NGFA President and CEO Thank you, Randy. Three simple words that really cannot begin to adequately thank Randy Gordon for his service to the National Grain and Feed Association, its members and staff, and the industries they represent. But those of you who know Randy also know those are the three words he is probably the most comfortable hearing when discussing his time at NGFA.
