A responsibility, as well as a way to express yourself in a way the public can relate.

Why did you become a journalist?
I've always enjoyed writing and my love for sports always came out in that. It started out as a hobby that I enjoyed, but became my career.

I didn't, nope.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Write every day. Embrace the errors when you start because that's the time to make them. You'll get better with experience.

I've always enjoyed Peter King's MMQB. Also, novels that don't revolve around sports. Karin Slaughter is one of my favorite authors.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That's it's easy. There's always someone who wants your job, so there's no letting up.
